How to Find Your IP Address in Windows

When IT provide users with remote IT support, users often need to check the IP address of the computer by themselves. You can check it directly through the command prompt, or you can find the network and Internet in the settings to find IPv4.

Command Prompt

1. Press Win + R to open the Run dialog box, type “cmd”, and click OK or press Enter to open the Command Prompt.

 

2. In the Command Prompt, type “ipconfig /all” and press Enter. A list of network connections will appear. Find the correct network type your computer is connected to, and check the “IPv4 Address” field to obtain your IP address.

WLAN – Wireless Network:

Ethernet – Wired Network:

Settings > Network & Internet

1. Find “Start” in the bottom left corner of the desktop and click “Settings.”

2. In the Settings window, find and select “Network & Internet.”

3. In the Network & Internet window, select the appropriate option based on your network connection type. Check the “IPv4 Address” field to obtain your IP address.

WLAN – Wireless Network:

On the left side, find “WLAN” (Wi-Fi) and click “Hardware properties.”

Ethernet – Wired Network:

On the left side, find “Ethernet” and click on your connected network.
