In our daily work, we often encounter problems like complex passwords and messy storage. Today, let me introduce to you a password management that can store and categorize passwords – KeePass. It can help you securely save various accounts and passwords. The following is a video tutorial prepared by Sinokap.

Introduction to the Main Interface of KeePass

The main page of KeePass consists mainly of two parts, the group section on the left and the entry section on the right.

The group classification column is used to organize and classify your password records. The group column includes operations such as adding, editing, duplicating, and deleting groups, which can be accomplished with a simple right-click. After creating the groups, you can also sort them through dragging and dropping, achieving a more granular functionality.

The entry section is where you store specific password records. The account passwords within each group on the left will be displayed here. This is also where you add or edit account passwords later.

How to add account & password in KeePass

1. Right-click and select Add Entry.

2. Fill in the corresponding information in each field and click OK.

3. For security purposes, Sinokap advises everyone to use different passwords for different accounts and ensure a certain level of complexity. Therefore, you can click on the small icon on the right to open the password generator, check your requirements, and the system will automatically generate a password.

4. To update in the future, right-click and select Edit Entry.

5. After each change, don’t forget to select File in the top left corner and click Save.

How to input account & password in KeePass

When you need to log in to a certain account later, select the record, right-click to find the URL(s) and choose a commonly used browser to open it.

Here, you have three ways to input passwords.

1. Double-click on the username and password and paste it into the webpage.

2. Right-click and select “Copy Username” and “Copy Password” respectively, then paste them into the webpage.

3. Right-click and select Perform Auto-Type, then switch to the webpage, and the system will automatically input the details. You can also directly use the shortcut Ctrl+Alt+A to perform auto-fill.

How to download and install KeePass

Input KeePass into your browser and enter the official website. Click on “Downloads” under the “Getting KeePass” section.

Choose the version on the right and click on “Download Now”. After the program is downloaded, you can modify the default settings according to your needs.

How to add multilingual settings in KeePass

KeePass is displayed in English by default after installation. If you need to display other languages, please download the language pack you need from the official website.

Find Translations under “Getting KeePass” on the left side of the official website, find the language you need, and choose the correct version to download.

After the installation package is downloaded, unzip the files into the “Languages” folder where you store KeePass.

Open KeePass, find View at the top and click Change Language.

Choose the language pack, then a popup window will prompt you to restart KeePass. Click “Yes” to successfully change the language.

That’s the end of this tip-sharing. Sinokap will continue to regularly recommend some useful software and update IT tips. We hope this will be helpful to your work!
